## What is the role of a quality management model?

- **Deming:** Developed in 1951 in Japan to increase the level of competitiveness of companies in their industry; aims to establish indicators for quality improvement.
- **Malcom Baldrige:** Created in the United States in 1987 in response to the great variety of products from Japan that reached the national market, with the aim of defining the guidelines for achieving public recognition.
- **EFQM:** It was carried out in Europe in 1988 by different companies to initiate with the European Foundation for Quality Management; with the purpose of boosting business competitiveness at an international level.
